In this installation, people are invited into an intimate environment of daring tranquility. Drawings feature soft lines, furry textures, and elemental forms, resembling mandalas, energetic landscapes, and portraits. Together with the sculptures, of oceanic fluid shapes and colours, they bring the notion of the primal essence of life. The abstract quality of the visual forms of both drawings and sculptures awakens the imagination welcoming new perceptions. In this work we experimented with diverse organic natural fabrics and filling combinations. We found out that the sculptures filled with cherry pits can serve as instruments. Later we used this element in our performance The Ritual of Embrace. Also, we introduced smaller-scale sculptures to be held in the palm of a hand inviting more intimate connection with the work. The Soft Edges was supported by Amsterdams Fonds Voor de Kunst and Urban Resort. It was presented at the Broedplaats Lycka in 2022, the Groene Passage in Rotterdam 2022, at the Stichting La Jetee 2023, and Tour d’Amour in Sloterdijk in 2023.
